Simultaneous Interpreting
Simultaneous interpreting is an essential type of interpreting for summits, congresses, and other multilingual events. The interpreter works in a booth equipped with a microphone and a headset. The interpreter hears the speaker through the headset and simultaneously translates into another language, which is then relayed to the audience through the microphone. Participants listen to the translation simultaneously with the speech through their headphones, which can be obtained from the authorities at the entrance. The technical equipment required for simultaneous interpreting can be provided by our company on request.
Consecutive Interpreting
The interpreter sits at the conference table with the participants and does not use any technical equipment. The interpreter takes notes while the speaker speaks for a few sentences or minutes, depending on the content of the speech. The speaker then stops, and the interpreter translates what has been said into the other language. Consecutive interpreting is usually used when simultaneous interpreting is not possible because the meeting is too short, technical, confidential, or official. It should be noted that consecutive interpreting takes longer than simultaneous interpreting because what is said in one language is repeated in the other.
Whispered Interpreting
In whispered interpreting, our interpreters are in close proximity to the person they are interpreting for and generally interpret in synchrony with the external voice without the use of any equipment. The layout of the meeting and the environment in which it takes place are very important when choosing this type of interpreting. It is not ideal for all-day meetings.

This type of interpreting involves the use of Infoport equipment. Infoport is a portable simultaneous interpretation system. For more detailed information, please refer to our Equipment Services tab (hyperlink). It is generally preferred in cases such as site visits where technical equipment such as booths etc. cannot be installed.
Liaison Interpreting
In liaison interpreting, our interpreters usually accompany participants during official visits, site visits and bilateral meetings. Liaison interpreting involves whispered consecutive interpreting, or simultaneous interpreting if this is required for a short period of time and the necessary equipment is available. This type of interpretation is often preferred for diplomatic meetings.
