Written Translation

Written Translation Services

Although the name of our company says, ‘conference interpreting’, we also offer written translation services. Our clients often ask our interpreting department to translate presentations and other documents for meetings or conferences that we have already interpreted. We also have clients for whom we provide written translation services only. We understand how difficult, labour-intensive, and time-consuming translation can be.

For translation services, we first ask our clients to provide us with the document, if possible, and then we analyse the document to be translated in terms of both content and format. When analysing the content, we take into account the subject matter of the document, the density of terminology, the length of the document, whether it is suitable to be shared by more than one translator and whether there is a need for a

meeting with a specialist, which our clients can also specify or suggest.

In terms of format, we look at the number of words and characters, the file extension (.pdf, .jpg, .doc, etc.), whether the file extension needs to be converted, the number of graphics and figures in the file, etc. If the file needs to be converted from PDF format to MS Word format, etc., we will also do this and obtain the client’s approval and opinion on the converted file. We then assign a translator who is familiar with the content of the document, whose work the client is satisfied with and who is an expert in the field, and then we submit our quotation.

At the quotation stage, and particularly when setting a deadline, we take into account both our client’s possible urgent needs and our translator’s availability and try to work out the best date together. Wherever possible, the translation will commence as soon as the quotation has been confirmed in writing. During the translation process, we may advise the client on word choice and preferred expressions.

Our mission is to ensure that the translation is delivered on time, of high quality, without spelling or grammatical errors, without grammatically incorrect or ambiguous sentences, and in accordance with the terminology and tone of voice preferred by the client. Where necessary, we share the sources we use and the terminology list we have created with our clients, and we strictly adhere to the terminology lists shared by our clients. As it is useful to have a second set of eyes on the translation, whenever possible we have another translator proofread and correct the translation.

As you can see, translation is a multi-stage process that requires precision. The software we use for translation is purchased and licensed by our company and facilitates the work of our translators. Any possible errors, such as layout problems, spaces, etc., that may arise from the software are checked one by one before delivery and the client is provided with a translation that meets the required specifications.

We offer translation services in all major languages. We offer this service in all the major European languages as well as other frequently requested languages such as Arabic, Russian, Persian, Chinese and Japanese. If you require a translation into another language, we would be happy to help. Please contact us with your requirements.

  • Notarised/Sworn Translation

One of the most common requests we receive is for a notarised/sworn translation. Sometimes the translated document needs to be notarised or stamped by a sworn translator. Both our full-time translators and our corporate partners who are translators can carry out the necessary procedures and provide you with a notarisation or sworn translator stamp service. We can provide this service in any language you require. Your translations will be prepared in accordance with your requirements, regardless of the purpose for which they are to be used.

  • Proofreading and editing

No matter how carefully and diligently you translate, errors can be overlooked if the translation is not proofread and edited. Returning a translation for this reason is both time-consuming for the client and damaging to the reputation of the company providing the service. To avoid such problems, we proofread and edit the translation before delivery, preferably by an editor or translator other than the translator. We check for issues such as spelling mistakes, formatting errors, incorrect sentences, grammatical errors and, if the document is being translated into a language other than Turkish, the selection of the most authentic expressions possible in that language. In this way, we are able to achieve the desired level of translation quality.

  • Transcription

Another request our company receives is the transcription of the audio recording of a meeting. As part of our equipment support services, we provide equipment support and translation services at the meeting and, if requested by the client, we can also make an audio recording of the meeting and then transcribe that recording. We would like to emphasise the importance of audio recording in our transcription services. As there is no problem with the quality of the audio recording on our own equipment, it can be easily transcribed. However, if the client wishes to record the audio with external equipment and send it to us, we will need to listen to the recording beforehand to ensure that everything is clear and understandable. If the audio recording is not of good quality, we will tell the client in advance that there may be some parts that are difficult to understand. The parts that cannot be clearly understood due to the audio recording will be specified to the minute and communicated to the client at the time of delivery of the transcription. We can provide our transcription service in any language you require. The most popular languages are Turkish, English, Arabic, Persian and Russian. We can also provide written translations of transcripts upon request.
